The Day After

No not the Jake Gyllenhaal movie, although I liked it! I think it was called, "The Day After Tomorrow". I meant the day after election day. I can honestly say that I am just so glad to have this behind us for a few years.

I don't expect the children in our government, I mean, our elected officials, to actually grow up and represent us instead of lining their own pockets and furthering their personal agendas. But I hope that with this election finally over, we can stop being barraged by political ad after political ad. It was endless and quite frankly, I'm glad for the temporary break.

One common theme that personally bothered me so much was the misinformation about abortion. Let's be honest, my whole life, this has been an argument topic. Either from strangers, acquaintances, friends or family members.

My stance is apparently conflicted. But it's how I feel. My opinion is that I, as a Catholic (horrible one, but that's beside the point), do not personally agree with it. I do believe that life begins at conception and have experienced and struggled from having had a spontaneous abortion. I would personally never opt for one because I believe murder to be a sin. Even if my life depended on it, I would prefer the baby be saved, if possible.

However, with that said, I would not stop another female from getting an abortion. Nor am I comfortable with telling another female that she should go through the pain of pushing a child out. And most definitely, I would NEVER try to force someone to raise unwanted children. Do we need another post-partum depression mother either putting the baby in a microwave or worse, a repeat of baby Brianna?

Just because I loved being a mother doesn't mean everyone will. While I do think abortion is murder, I think you should be free to choose what to do with the life inside of you and with the exception of having been raped, or being a victim of incest or to save your life, you should have to pay for it.

Yes, I just said that. My opinion! Why? Because at that point, you're using murder as a means of birth control and tax payers shouldn't have to pay for your poor choices. So yes, get your abortion, but don't expect me to pay for it.

At the end of the day, while I don't agree with it, I don't believe my belief should be imposed on you. Live and let live.

But back to the topic at hand, I'm glad it's in each state's hands. I also don't agree with prosecuting a female who seeks this procedure in a state where it's legal.

But why is leaving it up to the states so bad? I would think having state elections to decide would be a good thing?

Anyway, we're so off topic. Sorry!

My point to this post was that I am actually so happy for a temporary break from the hate and I am somewhat proud of the VP. I am not proud that it took her so long to concede. Regardless, I liked her message this afternoon. Oh and I was not a fan of hers. I know her choosing was legal, but she was not elected by the people. I know time was short, regardless, the whole thing felt like this was planned and she's such a liar. What politician isn't, right? I really actually liked RFK or Tulsi.

Oh and I'm so sick of the blatant lies without punishment *Stares at Senator Kelly in AZ*

I'm just happy, the day after, to get a much needed break!
