Cooking On Stainless Steel

I tried to use these shiny, pretty pans once and was very severely defeated. Cleaning was even more difficult. So I naturally did what any reasonable person with small children did, I bought non-stick cookware. For years this was what I used.

However, I started to care more about chemicals leaching into our food. So I began to research how to cook food on stainless steel without it sticking. Thank you, for that YouTube! I found this to be the most useful because it's so short and to the point:

It was understanding that I needed to thoroughly heat the pan before I add anything that saved my eggs and other foods. I now had the confidence to cook other items on my pretty pans and thus far have had minimal casualties.

Here's a not so healthy meal that did not stick or burn. I was initially going to use mushrooms and red onion, but we were out. So I added Spam instead. It came out okay! I really wish we would have had some onion and mushrooms instead. But you have to make adult decisions when you're an adult. Being poor definitely means making not so healthy meals every so often.
