Convenience Fees

I really don't get this. I might be old, but why are YOU charging ME a convenience fee? I thought making an electronic payment means YOU get the money faster. Wouldn't that make it more convenient for you than for me?
But you don't discount me for you getting my money faster or for paying before the due date.
No, you charge me more fothdoing those things.
Merchant card processing fees or not, I think this fee should be illegal. It's a cost of doing business. But more and more it seems "businesses" don't understand they have fees they should factor into costs. No. They just want to make money by charging exorbitant service fees and then charge us more for our supposed convenience.
I mean, fine. My response? Take me off ebills and send a physical bill out so I can send you a check. I guess waiting for my paper check and having to deposit it and hope it doesn't bounce is much more convenient for you, right? Cause that's my response for our utilities.
If you want to charge me extra, then I suppose you prefer checks.
But where are our representatives to fix this?
I guess they're too busy wasting our tax dollars on their lavish lifestyles to care?
